To remove or not to remove the existing insulation layer? Owners of buildings insulated in the 80s, particularly buildings constructed from the prefabricated concrete slabs, more and more often face the necessity of deciding about the extent and ways of carrying out necessary repairs of the thermally insulated building facades. In the case of severely devastated ETICS, quite often, the only available solution was to remove the existing system and replace it with a totally new one. Up till now, investors and designers had no alternative. Undoubtedly such a decision is, from the technical point of view, not to be questioned. However it is costly and may evoke doubts among owners and users of buildings where thermal insulations works had already been done.
The Renovadex Technology is a technical and economical alternative enabling significant reduction of repair costs while maintaining effective thermal insulation of the building. The choice of the way as how to carry out the refurbishment operation – whether to remove and replace the existing one or to repair it must, in any case, be preceded by an appropriate technical analysis. The S/W Renovadex system ( EPS / mineral wool) meets strict fire resistance requirements of high towers ( tall buildings). Buildings higher than 25 m must be insulated with mineral wool. The S/W RENOVADEX system enables fixing a non flammable mineral wool layer on existing EPS insulating systems. |
